Companion Care

Companion care is a non-medical in-home care focused on providing companionship and emotional support for individuals who may be isolated or lonely. While companion care does not typically involve medical tasks, it plays a crucial role in the overall well-being and quality of life for clients. Ability Home Care companion services include:

  • Engage in stimulating activities, (i.e., games, puzzles, reading, etc.)

  • Correspondence and letter writing assistance

  • Technology communication via email, text, video chat and social media

  • Nutritious meal planning, customized grocery lists and preparation to meet dietary needs/preferences

  • Facilitate visits with friends and neighbors

  • Plan and accompany on outings and travels/trips

  • Transportation to and from doctor appointments and social events

  • Shopping and errands

  • Medication reminders

  • Light housekeeping

  • Respite for family caregivers

 

Personal Care

Ability Home Care's compassionate, competent caregivers ensure that clients receive support to maintain or comfortably perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as:

  • Bathing

  • Dressing

  • Grooming

  • Toileting

  • General Mobility

  • Feeding

  • Support adherence to dietary requirements

  • Oral and personal hygiene

  • Outpatient pre- and post-op assistance

  • Specialized Care to meet the specific needs of clients with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, Parkinson's disease, or disabilities.

Outpatient Care

Both pre and post-outpatient care are essential for ensuring patient safety, comfort, and successful recovery following outpatient procedures. Effective communication between patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers is critical throughout the process to optimize outcomes and minimize complications. Ability Home Care offers:

  • Pre-Outpatient Care:

    • Adjusting meals

    • Point of contact between patient, family, and facility

    • Informing of medication adjustments per orders

    • Assist with documentation and other non medical pre-procedure preparation tasks

  • Post-Outpatient Care:

    • Monitor activity, watch for signs of complications, ensure patient adheres to limitations. 

    • Accompany on follow-up appointments 

    • Activities of Daily Living and emotional support.

 

24-hour Care

Ability Home Care is compassionate and competent in caring for personal needs of clients with cancer, stroke, memory and cognitive challenges and other conditions. Our caregivers are trained to meet the personal care needs of critical care clients. Providing home care for critical care clients involves a range of supportive services aimed at helping them manage their condition and maintain their quality of life while receiving treatment. Includes the services of Companion and Personal Care.

Palliative Care and End of Life Support

With Ability Home Care on your palliative care team, you'll have a comprehensive, competent support system to help navigate and address your home care needs. Ability Home Care aims to honor and gently manage the care of individuals facing the final stage of life.
